Biography
About Siem Huijsman
Of Dutch origin, Siem has been playing the cello since the age of nine. He studied with Wieb Machula-de Rook, Tibor de Machula and Harro Ruijsenaars. Currently he is studying with Charles Watt.
After playing in a large variety of symphony orchestras, he now almost exclusively plays chamber music: string quartet, piano trio, trio with clarinet and piano and duo with piano. In addition to his chamber music activities, he regularly performs as a guest in various ensembles from wind ensembles to accompanying choirs.
After completing a successful career in IT, Siem has devoted himself since 2017 entirely to music. He now combines a study of musicology with his activities as a cellist.
